Aakis vastasi filistealaisten päälliköille: "Tämähän on Daavid, Saulin, Israelin kuninkaan, palvelija, joka on ollut minun luonani toista vuotta, enkä minä ole havainnut hänessä mitään siitä päivästä alkaen, jona hän siirtyi minun luokseni, tähän päivään asti".
