2. Silloin nousi Ismael, Netanjan poika, ynnä ne kymmenen miestä, jotka olivat hänen kanssaan, ja he löivät miekalla kuoliaaksi Gedaljan, joka oli Saafanin pojan Ahikamin poika. Niin Ismael surmasi hänet, jonka Baabelin kuningas oli asettanut käskynhaltijaksi maahan.
