14. Ruoka-ajan tultua Booas sanoi hänelle: "Käy tänne ruualle ja kasta palasesi hapanviiniin". Niin Ruut istui leikkuuväen viereen; ja Booas pani hänen eteensä paahdettuja jyviä, niin että hän söi tarpeeksensa ja jäi tähteeksikin.
