2. Και ειπεν ο βασιλευς προς τον Ιωαβ, τον αρχηγον του στρατευματος, οστις ητο μετ' αυτου· Διελθε τωρα πασας τας φυλας του Ισραηλ, απο Δαν εως Βηρ-σαβεε, και απαριθμησον τον λαον, δια να μαθω τον αριθμον του λαου.
