31. Οι δε Ιουδαιοι, δια να μη μεινωσιν επι του σταυρου τα σωματα εν τω σαββατω, επειδη ητο παρασκευη· διοτι ητο μεγαλη εκεινη η ημερα του σαββατου· παρεκαλεσαν τον Πιλατον δια να συνθλασθωσιν αυτων τα σκελη, και να σηκωθωσιν.
