8. Και καθως ανετειλεν ο ηλιος, διεταξεν ο Θεος ανεμον ανατολικον καυστικον· και προσεβαλεν ο ηλιος επι την κεφαλην του Ιωνα, ωστε ωλιγοψυχησε· και εζητησεν εν τη ψυχη αυτου να αποθανη, και ειπεν, Ειναι καλλιον εις εμε να αποθανω παρα να ζω.
