1. Dávid ekkor így szólt magában: »Egy nap mégiscsak Saul kezébe fogok esni; nem jobb-e, ha elfutok, s a filiszteusok földjére menekülök, hogy Saul reménységét veszítse, s megszűnjön keresni engem Izraelnek egész területén. Elfutok tehát keze elől.«
