Azt mondták ekkor a filiszteusok fejedelmei Ákisnak: »Mit keresnek itt ezek a héberek?« Azt mondta erre Ákis a filiszteusok fejedelmeinek: »Hát nem ismeritek Dávidot, Saulnak, Izrael királyának volt szolgáját? Sok nap vagy esztendő óta van már nálam, s nem találtam benne semmi rosszat sem attól a naptól kezdve, hogy hozzám átszökött, mind a mai napig.« –
