9. Ahaszját magát is kereste és el is fogatta szamariai rejtekhelyén: erre maga elé hozatta s megölette. Mindazonáltal eltemették, mert Jozafát fia volt, és az kereste az Urat teljes szívéből. Ezután már semmi remény sem volt arra, hogy Ahaszja utódai közül valaki uralomra jusson.
