23. Damaszkusz isteneinek, az ő legyőzőinek mutatott be áldozatokat, mondván: »Szíria királyainak istenei segítenek nekik s azért én áldozatokkal engesztelem őket, s akkor majd ők segíteni fognak nekem« – holott éppen ellenkezőleg, neki is és egész Izraelnek is vesztére voltak.
