16. »Menj, gyűjtsd egybe az összes zsidót, akit Szúzában találsz, s böjtöljetek értem. Három nap és három éjjel ételt meg italt ne vegyetek magatokhoz, és én is így fogok böjtölni szolgálóleányaimmal együtt. Akkor azután nem törődve a törvénnyel, hívatlanul is bemegyek a királyhoz, s ha el kell pusztulnom, hát elpusztulok.
