11. Abdemelek tehát maga mellé vette a férfiakat, bement a király házába, a kincstár alatt levő helyiségbe, és hozott onnan elnyűtt ruhadarabokat és szakadt rongyokat. Majd leengedte azokat köteleken Jeremiásnak a ciszternába.
