6. Izrael fiai azonban régi bűneikre újakat halmoztak, s azt cselekedték, ami gonosz az Úr színe előtt: bálványoknak, a Baáloknak és az Astartéknek, Szíria, Szidon, Moáb, Ammon fiai és a filiszteusok isteneinek szolgáltak, az Urat pedig elhagyták és nem tisztelték.
