21. Berkatalah Abner kepada Daud: "Baiklah aku bersiap untuk pergi mengumpulkan seluruh orang Israel kepada tuanku raja, supaya mereka mengadakan perjanjian dengan tuanku dan tuanku menjadi raja atas segala yang dikehendaki hatimu." Lalu Daud membiarkan Abner pergi dan berjalanlah ia dengan selamat.
