5. Daud melakukan semuanya itu karena ia berpikir begini: "Aku harus mempersiapkan apa yang diperlukan untuk pembangunan Rumah TUHAN. Sebab Salomo putraku masih muda dan kurang pengalaman, sedangkan Rumah TUHAN yang akan dibangunnya itu harus sangat megah dan termasyhur di seluruh dunia." Maka sebelum Daud meninggal, ia menyediakan banyak sekali bahan bangunan.
