20. Keesokan harinya, pagi-pagi, Daud bangun lalu berkemas. Dombanya dititipkannya kepada seorang penjaga, kemudian ia mengambil bawaannya lalu berangkat, sesuai dengan perintah ayahnya. Ia sampai ke perkemahan pada waktu orang Israel berangkat ke medan pertempuran sambil memekikkan sorak perang.
