1. Setelah Saul dan Daud selesai bercakap-cakap, Daud diangkat oleh Saul menjadi pegawainya dan sejak hari itu ia tidak diizinkan pulang ke rumah orang tuanya. Yonatan putra Saul, telah mendengar percakapan itu. Ia merasa tertarik juga kepada Daud, dan mengasihinya seperti dirinya sendiri.
