18. Seminggu kemudian anak itu meninggal, dan hamba-hamba Daud takut untuk memberitahukannya. Kata mereka, "Ketika anak itu masih hidup, raja tidak mau mendengarkan jika kita berbicara kepadanya. Apalagi sekarang sesudah putranya meninggal! Jangan-jangan ia akan nekad menyakiti dirinya!"
