23. Semua rakyat menangis dengan nyaring ketika pasukan-pasukan Daud meninggalkan kota. Kemudian raja menyeberangi anak Sungai Kidron diikuti oleh seluruh pasukannya, lalu berjalanlah mereka menuju ke padang gurun.
