3. Setelah Daud tiba di istananya di Yerusalem, kesepuluh orang selir yang ditinggalkannya untuk menunggui istana, ditempatkannya dalam rumah yang dijaga oleh pengawal. Kebutuhan mereka disediakan secukupnya, tetapi Daud tidak pernah tidur lagi bersama mereka. Jadi mereka itu dipingit dan hidup mereka seperti janda sampai mati.
