8. Kedua belas orang itu pun melaksanakan perintah Yosua. Sesuai dengan petunjuk TUHAN kepada Yosua, mereka mengambil dua belas batu dari tengah-tengah Yordan jumlahnya sesuai dengan jumlah suku-suku dalam bangsa Israel lalu membawanya ke tempat perkemahan mereka.
