1. Pada tanggal dua puluh empat bulan itu juga, rakyat Israel berkumpul. Mereka berpuasa untuk menunjukkan penyesalan dosa-dosa mereka. Mereka memisahkan diri dari semua orang asing. Sebagai tanda bersedih, mereka memakai kain karung dan menaburi kepala dengan tanah. Kemudian mereka berdiri dan mengakui segala dosa mereka dan dosa leluhur mereka.
