17. Para wanita tetangga-tetangga mereka menamakan anak itu Obed. Kepada setiap orang mereka berkata, "Naomi sudah mempunyai seorang anak laki-laki!" Obed inilah yang kemudian menjadi ayah dari Isai, dan Isai adalah ayah Daud.
