39. Ketika didengar Daud, bahwa Nabal telah mati, berkatalah ia: "Terpujilah TUHAN, yang membela aku dalam perkara penghinaan Nabal terhadap aku dan yang mencegah hamba-Nya dari pada berbuat jahat. TUHAN telah membalikkan kejahatan Nabal ke atas kepalanya sendiri." Kemudian Daud menyuruh orang untuk berbicara dengan Abigail tentang mengambil dia menjadi isterinya.
