19. Af Manasse gengu í lið með Davíð, þá er hann fór með Filistum til bardaga við Sál _ þó liðsinntu þeir þeim ekki, því að höfðingjar Filista réðu ráðum sínum, sendu hann burt og sögðu: 'Hann kynni að ganga í lið með Sál, herra sínum, og gæti það orðið vor bani' _
