21. Rehabeam sonur Salómons varð konungur í Júda. Rehabeam hafði einn um fertugt, þá er hann varð konungur, og seytján ár ríkti hann í Jerúsalem, borginni, sem Drottinn hafði útvalið af öllum ættkvíslum Ísraels til þess að láta nafn sitt búa þar. Móðir hans hét Naama og var ammónítísk.
