En fyrir munn Jehú spámanns Hananísonar kom dómsorð Drottins yfir Basa og ætt hans, bæði vegna alls þess illa, er hann hafði aðhafst í augsýn Drottins með því að egna hann til reiði með handaverkum sínum, svo að fyrir honum færi sem fyrir ætt Jeróbóams, og líka vegna þess, að hann hafði eytt henni.
