2. Sál valdi sér þrjú þúsund manns af Ísrael. Af þeim voru tvö þúsund hjá Sál í Mikmas og á Betelfjöllum, en eitt þúsund hjá Jónatan í Gíbeu í Benjamín. Hitt liðið lét hann brott fara, hvern heim til sín.
