28. En er Elíab, elsti bróðir hans, heyrði, hvað hann talaði við mennina, þá reiddist hann Davíð og mælti: 'Til hvers ert þú hingað kominn, og hjá hverjum skildir þú eftir þessa fáu sauði í eyðimörkinni? Ég þekki ofdirfsku þína og vonsku hjarta þíns: Þú ert hingað kominn til þess að horfa á bardagann.'
