3. Þá sögðu höfðingjar Filista: 'Hvað eiga þessir Hebrear hér að gjöra?' Akís sagði við höfðingja Filista: 'Það er Davíð, hirðmaður Sáls konungs í Ísrael, sem nú hefir með mér verið í tvö ár, og hefi ég ekki haft neitt út á hann að setja frá þeirri stundu, er hann gjörðist minn maður, og allt fram á þennan dag.'
