22. Þá tóku allir ódrengir og varmenni meðal manna þeirra, er með Davíð höfðu farið, til máls og sögðu: 'Fyrst þeir fóru ekki með oss, þá viljum vér ekki láta þá fá neitt af herfanginu, sem vér höfum bjargað. Þó má hver maður fá konu sína og sonu. Það mega þeir taka með sér og fara síðan.'
