9. Og hyggið að: Ef hún fer veginn til síns lands upp til Bet Semes, þá er það hann, sem hefir látið oss þessa miklu ógæfu að höndum bera. En fari hún ekki veginn, þá vitum vér, að ekki er það hönd hans, sem hefir lostið oss; þá er það tilviljun, er oss hefir að höndum borið.'
