12. Þá sagði maðurinn við Jóab: 'Þó að taldir væru í lófa mér þúsund siklar silfurs, mundi ég samt ekki leggja hönd á konungsson, því að í áheyrn vorri lagði konungur svo fyrir þig, Abísaí og Íttaí: ,Gætið sveinsins Absalons.`
