33. Þá varð konungi bilt. Gekk hann upp í þaksalinn uppi yfir hliðinu og grét. Og er hann gekk, mælti hann svo: 'Sonur minn Absalon, sonur minn, sonur minn Absalon! Ó, að ég hefði dáið í þinn stað, Absalon, sonur minn, sonur minn!'
