15. Þegar nú röðin kom að Ester, dóttur Abíhaíls, föðurbróður Mordekai, er hann hafði tekið sér í dóttur stað, að hún skyldi inn ganga fyrir konung, þá bað hún ekki um neitt, nema það sem Hegaí geldingur konungs, kvennavörðurinn, tiltók. Og Ester fann náð í augum allra þeirra, er hana sáu.
