14. Þá sagði Seres kona hans við hann og allir vinir hans: 'Lát reisa fimmtíu álna háan gálga, og talaðu á morgun um það við konung, að Mordekai verði festur á hann. Far síðan glaður með konungi til veislunnar.' Þetta ráð líkaði Haman vel og lét hann reisa gálgann.
