8. En nú höfum vér um örskamma stund hlotið miskunn frá Drottni, Guði vorum, með því að hann lét oss eftir verða leifar, er af komust, og veitti oss bólfestu á sínum heilaga stað, til þess að Guð vor léti gleðina skína úr augum vorum og veitti oss ofurlítinn nýjan lífsþrótt í ánauð vorri.
