30. Jakob sagði við Símeon og Leví: 'Þið hafið stofnað mér í ógæfu með því að gjöra mig illa þokkaðan af landsmönnum, af Kanaanítum og Peresítum. Nú með því að ég er liðfár, munu þeir safnast saman á móti mér og vinna sigur á mér. Verð ég þá afmáður, ég og mitt hús.'
