6. Í fjörutíu ár fóru Ísraelsmenn um eyðimörkina, uns allt það fólk, allir vígir menn, er farið höfðu af Egyptalandi, voru dánir, því að þeir hlýddu ekki raust Drottins. Þess vegna hafði Drottinn svarið þeim, að þeir skyldu ekki fá að sjá landið, sem hann sór feðrum þeirra að gefa oss, _ land, sem flýtur í mjólk og hunangi.
