9. Og Nehemía _ það er landstjórinn _ og Esra prestur, fræðimaðurinn, og levítarnir, sem fræddu lýðinn, sögðu við gjörvallan lýðinn: 'Þessi dagur er helgaður Drottni, Guði yðar. Sýtið eigi né grátið!' Því að allur lýðurinn grét, þegar þeir heyrðu orð lögmálsins.
