2. Húsgoðin veittu fánýt svör, og spásagnamennirnir sáu falssýnir. Þeir kunngjöra aðeins hégómlega drauma og veita einskisverða huggun. Fyrir því héldu þeir áfram eins og hjörð, eru nú nauðulega staddir, af því að enginn er hirðirinn.
