E Fineas, figliuolo del sacerdote Eleazar, disse ai figliuoli di Ruben, ai figliuoli di Gad e ai figliuoli di Manasse: "Oggi riconosciamo che l’Eterno è in mezzo a noi, poiché non avete commesso questa infedeltà verso l’Eterno; così avete scampato i figliuoli d’Israele dalla mano dell’Eterno".
