23. Offrì sacrifici agli dèi di Damasco, che lo avevano sconfitto, dicendo: "Poiché gli dèi dei re di Siria aiutano quelli, io offrirò loro sacrifici perché aiutino anche me". Ma furono proprio loro a provocare la sua rovina e quella di tutto Israele.
