24. Allora Pilato, vedendo che non otteneva nulla, ma che anzi il tumulto cresceva sempre più, prese dell' acqua e si lavò le mani davanti alla folla, dicendo: "Io sono innocente del sangue di questo giusto; pensateci voi".
