28. In quel medesimo giorno Giosuè prese Maccheda e fece passare a fil di spada la città e il suo re; li votò allo sterminio con tutte le persone che vi si trovavano; non ne lasciò scampare una, e trattò il re di Maccheda come aveva trattato il re di Gerico.
