17. inviò dei messaggeri al re di Edom per dirgli: "Ti prego, lasciami passare per il tuo paese"; ma il re di Edom non acconsentì. Ne mandò anche al re di Moab, il quale pure rifiutò; e Israele rimase a Cades.
