8. ಆಗ ದಾವೀದ ನು ಅಹೀಮೆಲೆಕನಿಗೆ--ನಿನ್ನ ಕೈಯಲ್ಲಿ ಈಟಿಯಾದರೂ ಕತ್ತಿಯಾದರೂ ಇಲ್ಲವೋ? ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ಅರಸನ ಕಾರ್ಯವು ಅವಸರವಾದದ್ದರಿಂದ ನಾನು ನನ್ನ ಕತ್ತಿ ಯನ್ನಾದರೂ ಆಯುಧಗಳನ್ನಾದರೂ ತಕ್ಕೊಂಡು ಬರಲಿಲ್ಲ ಅಂದನು.
