13. ದಾವೀದನು ತನ್ನ ಮನುಷ್ಯ ರಿಗೆ--ನೀವು ಒಬ್ಬೊಬ್ಬನು ತನ್ನ ಕತ್ತಿಯನ್ನು ಸೊಂಟಕ್ಕೆ ಕಟ್ಟಿಕೊಳ್ಳಿರಿ ಅಂದನು. ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಬ್ಬನು ತನ್ನ ಕತ್ತಿಯನ್ನು ಸೊಂಟಕ್ಕೆ ಕಟ್ಟಿಕೊಂಡನು; ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ದಾವೀದನು ತನ್ನ ಕತ್ತಿಯನ್ನು ಸೊಂಟಕ್ಕೆ ಕಟ್ಟಿಕೊಂಡನು. ದಾವೀದನ ಹಿಂದೆ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಕಡಿಮೆ ನಾನೂರು ಮಂದಿ ಹೋದರು; ಆದರೆ ಇನ್ನೂರು ಮಂದಿ ಸಾಮಗ್ರಿಗಳ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಂತರು.
