6. ಅವನು ಹೋಗಿ ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಮಲಗಿದನು. ಕರ್ತನು--ಸಮುವೇಲನೇ ಎಂದು ಅವ ನನ್ನು ತಿರಿಗಿ ಕರೆದನು. ಆಗ ಸಮುವೇಲನು ಎದ್ದು ಏಲಿಯ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಹೋಗಿ--ಇಗೋ, ಇದ್ದೇನೆ; ನೀನು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಕರೆದಿಯಲ್ಲಾ ಅಂದನು. ಅದಕ್ಕವನು--ನನ್ನ ಮಗನೇ, ನಾನು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಕರೆಯಲಿಲ್ಲ; ಹೋಗಿ ಮಲ ಗಿಕೋ ಅಂದನು.
