12. ಅವನಿಗೆ ನೀರನ್ನು ಕುಡಿಸಿ ಅಂಜೂರದ ಫಲದ ಅಡೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದು ತುಂಡನ್ನೂ ಒಣಗಿದ ಎರಡು ದ್ರಾಕ್ಷೇ ಗೊಂಚಲುಗಳನ್ನೂ ಅವನಿಗೆ ಕೊಟ್ಟರು. ಅವನು ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ತಿಂದು ಪ್ರಾಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಚೇತರಿಸಿ ಕೊಂಡನು. ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ಅವನು ರಾತ್ರಿ ಹಗಲು ಮೂರು ದಿವಸದಿಂದ ರೊಟ್ಟಿ ತಿಂದಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ, ನೀರನ್ನೂ ಕುಡಿದಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ.
